Our classes are designed to give you the skills and the knowledge you need to understand situational awareness and alert levels to avoid violent confrontations and being able to defend yourself and your family effectively if the unimaginable happens to you.

Pistol 1 Basic Pistol SafetyThe goal of the CCW Colorado Basics Pistol Safety course is to teach students the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely and efficiently. This is a highly detailed class that is intended for individuals with little to no knowledge of firearms. It is a good course regardless of previous shooting experience or firearm ownership for those that want to brush up on their pistol safety knowledge. By participating in this class you will receive comprehensive, quality firearms safety instruction from our NRA Certified instructor. Class size is limited to a maximum of 8 participants regardless of venue capacity. Room size may limit the number of students even more. Dress should be comfortable. It will require participants to bring their personal, unloaded firearms and a minimum of 2 unloaded magazines. If any or all participant do not yet own a firearm at the time of class, they can be rented from CCW Colorado for this particular class. This course is covered in two days. Day one is a comprehensive classroom training covering all of the information below. This Course Covers: Basic Firearm Safety Types of Pistols Pistol Maintenance Safe Storage Choosing the Right Pistol for You Shooting Fundamentals Holsters Day two (the following day) is a live fire event at a shooting range to practice the skills learned in the classroom. The shooting portion of Pistol 1 - Basic Pistol Safety class consists of 2-4 hours of live fire drills at a shooting range based on the participants firearm experience level. The range we utilize is an outdoor range, so participants should dress appropriately for the weather conditions. At a minimum students should wear a hat, high neck shirt, sturdy belt and closed toe shoes or boots. Unless an alternate range is known or access to private property provided, our range must be utilized. Participants should bring: Safety Glasses Hearing Protection (electronic preferred) Personal, Unloaded Firearms (If a gun is not owned, CCW Colorado pistols can be rented for Basic Firearm Safety Shooting Course Only for an additional $30) Minimum of 2 unloaded magazines 200 rounds of factory loaded, range ammunition (FMJ) People requesting live shooting courses should keep firearm and shooting experience levels in mind when scheduling private shooting classes. Pistol 2 - Concealed CarryThis is not an easy class. You must have completed the CCW Colorado Pistol 1 - Basic Firearm Safety course or another basic pistol course that covers firearm safety, marksmanship and basic shooting fundamentals with a live-fire component prior to signing up for this class. This is an extremely comprehensive, two day class that exceeds the requirements to obtain a Colorado CCW license. It lays the foundation for all other CCW Colorado Defensive Pistol training. This course is designed for those who know and can demonstrate basic firearm knowledge and shooting experience and want to apply for their Colorado CCW permit or those that have their Colorado CCW and wish to have additional instruction and improve defensive shooting skills. It was developed to allow students to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and understand the responsibility of carrying and using a concealed firearm in self-defense situations. This course covers the following topics: Firearm Safety Review of Pistol Basics Ethical Considerations of Carrying and Using a Firearm Overview of Self Defense Law Overview of Federal and State laws regarding firearms Holsters, carry positions and Concealment Situational Awareness / Defender Mindset Defensive Shooting Basics & Tactics Responding to an Attack and the Aftermath Day 1 of this interactive training is classroom instruction and dry-fire practice. It takes approximately 6-8 hours to complete depending on class size and overall participation. Dress should be comfortable but a sturdy belt is required for holster retention and dry-fire practice. Class size is limited to a maximum of 8 participants regardless of venue capacity. Equipment Needed: Personal Unloaded Pistol Minimum of 2 Unloaded Magazines Kydex, Outside of the Waistband Holster Day 2 of the Pistol 2 - Basic Concealed Carry class consists of a live-fire qualification as required by Colorado law. CCW Colorado will coach you through shooting drills to ensure you have the skills to defend yourself and your family in a life threatening situation. The shooting class consists of 3-6 hours of comprehensive live-fire drills at a shooting range based on the participants firearm experience level. The range we utilize is an outdoor range, so participants should dress appropriately and bring water and snacks appropriate for the weather conditions. At a minimum students should wear a hat, high neck shirt, sturdy belt and closed toe shoes or boots. Participants should bring: Safety Glasses Hearing Protection (electronic preferred) Personal, Unloaded Firearms Minimum of 2 unloaded magazines Outside the Waistband, Strongside Holster 200 rounds of factory loaded, range ammunition (FMJ) This course exceeds the training requirements to apply for the Colorado CCW permit. Pistol 3 - Defensive Shooting (Advanced CCW)THIS IS AN ADVANCED SHOOTING CLASS. WE WILL UTILIZE THE RANGE FOR ALL PISTOL 3 - ADVANCED DEFENSIVE SHOOTING CLASS EVENTS. TO BE ELEGIBLE FOR THIS CLASS, YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED THE CCW COLORADO PISTOL 1 AND PISTOL 2 CLASSES OR EQUIVILANT CLASSES THAT REQUIRED A COMPREHENSIVE LIVE FIRE COMPONENT. This course dives deep into how to see active threats and quickly develop a course of action and in a self defense situation. You will learn gun fighting tactics, advanced defensive movements, and advanced shooting techniques. This class is for experienced concealed carriers and those who have completed the CCW Colorado Basic Pistol Safety and the CCW Colorado Concealed Carry course or and equivalent training. Participants should have a current Colorado CCW permit since all live fire training will be from concealment. It teaches participants advanced defensive skills and awareness for unexpected self-defense situations in a safe and effective manner. This course covers: Advanced shooting from Cover and Concealment Shooting from odd positions Defensive Movements Advanced Defensive Shooting Techniques Gunfighting Tactics Training begins with a 1 hour review of firearm safety, range safety and range commands. We then move to the range where we will begin the live fire drills. The range we utilize is an outdoor range, so participants should dress appropriately for the weather conditions. A hat, long sturdy pants, closed collared shirt, sturdy boots or closed toed shoes are minimum requirements. What to Bring to Class: Eye protection Electronic hearing protection Personal, unloaded firearms A minimum of 3 unloaded magazines Personal Concealment Holster 2 belt mounted magazine holders 250 rounds of range ammunition. Due to the complex movements of this class, class size is limited to 6 participants. This class is ONLY for experienced concealed carriers and those who have completed the CCW Colorado Basic Pistol Safety and the CCW Colorado Concealed Carry course or and equivalent training. Participants should have a current Colorado CCW permit since all live fire training will be from concealment. Private Live-fire CoachingRegardless of shooting experience, practicing is extremely important. Improving marksmanship and defensive shooting skills is a necessity. CCW Colorado recommends that CCW holders participate in additional live-fire classes. We can schedule live-fire only time at our range where CCW Colorado instructors will coach you through shooting drills which allow you to practice current skills and even learn new skills and techniques. The range we utilize is an outdoor range, so participants should dress appropriately for the weather conditions. At a minimum students should wear a hat, high neck shirt, sturdy belt and closed toe shoes or boots. AVERT Active Shooter DefenseAVERT is even more than active shooter response training Active Violence Emergency Response Training (AVERT) gives you the tools to understand how to recognize warning signs, react quickly in an active shooter situation, and learn how to control bleeding in life-threatening situations. AVERT is active shooter response training with the addition of techniques on how to stop the bleed of victims. When violence occurs, seconds count, and you can't always wait for EMS to arrive. AVERT is an active shooter training course that also enables you to become an immediate responder by learning emergency stop the bleed techniques. AVERT teaches how to: Recognize warning signs using situational awareness Decide whether to escape, evade or attack Apply critical stop the bleeding techniques Respond quickly and confidently in an emergency Active shooter incidents are unpredictable, and they can evolve rapidly. During the chaos, anyone involved can play a vital role in lessening the impact of an active shooter incident. Active Violence Emergency Response Training (AVERT) prepares your team with active shooter training resources that help you and your organization understand warning signs and respond to a potential active shooter incident. Recent active shooter incidents have shown the importance of a rapid response. Every second counts when active violence occurs and active shooter training with AVERT teaches you the tools that allow you to quickly react and make decisions on whether to escape, evade, or attack.

Situational AwarenessThis 3-hour course is all about Situational Awareness to keep you and your family safe. In this class we will discuss Awareness, Preparation and Rehearsing plans in case of a self-defense situation while under stress. Participants do not need to be CCW holders nor do they need to have experience with firearms. This class is for anyone who would like to improve the safety of themselves, their family and friends while in public spaces. The topics we will cover are: • Types of people • Defenders Mindset • Levels of Mental Awareness. • Mental Preparation • Avoidance • Physiological changes • Self-Defense Law • Disparity of Force • Controlling an Encounter
