About the Event
Colorado Semiautomatic Firearm Purchase Training
Colorado enacted SB25-003 last year, and the law took effect on August 1 of this year. It establishes eligibility and training requirements that must be completed before a person may purchase certain specified semiautomatic firearms, including AR-15s, AK-47s, and other semiautomatic rifles. The state’s guidance provides the full list of regulated firearms.
This 4 hour course will be covered in a single afternoon from 2:00pm until 6:00pm. Do not bring any weapons, including firearms, loaded or unloaded to this class.
This guide is intended to help prospective purchasers understand and complete the required process prior to registering for this training. Several prerequisites and steps must be satisfied before registering for this class. The steps below are based on information published by the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. Residents of other counties should consult their local sheriff’s website because application procedures, documentation, and processing instructions may differ.
